SEVERAL ROUNDS OF RAIN AND SNOW OCCURRED. SNOW WAS HEAVIEST IN THE USUAL SPOTS OF THE METHOW VALLEY, AND AROUND LEAVENWORTH AND LAKE WENATCHEE. ON THE 7TH LIGHT FREEZING RAIN FELL AROUND PLAIN, CHELAN, AND QUINCY WITH ICE ACCUMULATIONS UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH. ON THE 13TH SNOW FELL IN THE CASCADE VALLEYS, WATERVILLE PLATEAU, AND REPUBLIC AREA WITH 3-6 INCHES. ON THE 17TH HEAVY SNOW FELL IN THE CASCADES WITH 23" MAZAMA, 19" HOLDEN VILLAGE, 18" CARLTON, 15" ARDENVOIR, 14" LEAVENWORTH, 10" PLAIN, AND 1-3" IN WENATCHEE. FOLLOWING THE HEAVY SNOW STRONG WINDS OCCURRED IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH PEAK WIND GUSTS INCLUDE 96 MPH AT MISSION RIDGE SUMMIT. FROM THE 24TH-26TH ANOTHER WET PERIOD OCCURRED WITH MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW IN THE CASCADES ON CHRISTMAS DAY INTO THE 26TH. SNOW AMOUNTS INCLUDE 17" HOLDEN VILLAGE, 8" PLAIN, AND 7" IN LEAVENWORTH. ABNORMALLY VERY WET WEATHER OCCURRED IN THE MOSES LAKE AREA WITH THE WETTEST 3-DAY PRECIPITATION TOTALS FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER ON RECORD. EPHRATA AND MOSES LAKE SET 3-DAY PRECIPITATION RECORDS FOR THE MONTH WITH 1.21" AND 1.00" RESPECTIVELY. A DAILY PRECIPITATION RECORD WAS SET AT THE WENATCHEE AIRPORT ON THE 17TH WITH 0.37 INCHES.
