NOVEMBER 2024 FINISHED WITH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND
PRECIPITATION FOR NORTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON.  FOR OMAK AND EPHRATA IT
WAS THE 2ND WETTEST NOVEMBER WITH 3.91" AND 2.71" OF TOTAL
PRECIPITATION RESPECTIVELY. THE 19TH THROUGH THE 22ND WAS AN
EXCEPTIONALLY WET PERIOD. HEAVY PRECIPITATION FELL IN A TOTAL OF
1.80" OF PRECIPITATION FELL OVER THE 4 DAYS AT THE WENATCHEE
AIRPORT, WHICH WAS THE 9TH HIGHEST ON RECORD FOR ANY TIME OF YEAR. A
STRONG STORM IMPACTED THE REGION ON THE 19TH AND 20TH AS A VERY DEEP
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKED OFF THE WA/OR COAST WITH A STRONG FRONT
DELIVERING HEAVY SNOW TO THE EAST SLOPES OF THE CASCADES. SNOW
AMOUNTS INCLUDE 16" MAZAMA, 15" CONCONULLY, 14" WINTON, 13" TWISP,
12" WINTHROP, 11" WATERVILLE, 9" OKANOGAN, 8" PLAIN. SNOW IN
WENATCHEE WAS ELEVATION DEPENDENT WITH SOME LOCATIONS NEAR THE RIVER
ONLY GETTING 1", WHILE THE SURROUNDING HILLS GOT AS MUCH AS 8". ALL
OF THE PRECIPITATION SATURATED THE STEEP SLOPES, WITH NUMEROUS LARGE
ROCKS SLIDING ONTO HIGHWAY 971 CLOSING THE ROAD ON THE SOUTH SHORE
OF LAKE CHELAN.

THE WENATCHEE AIRPORT SET A NEW PRECIPITATION RECORD FOR NOVEMBER
22ND WHEN 0.75 INCHES FELL.
