A severe threat is not expected to develop across the continental U.S. on Tuesday or Tuesday night. ...DISCUSSION... At mid-levels, a large-scale trough will remain over the eastern U.S., as northwest flow continues over much of the central U.S. and a ridge remains over the Rockies. At the surface, a large area of high pressure will remain anchored over central and eastern U.S. Along the southern and western periphery of this post-frontal airmass, isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible from the Rockies into the southern Plains and Gulf Coast states.
