The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  North central Warren County in west central Illinois...
  Southeastern Mercer County in northwestern Illinois...
  Southwestern Henry County in northwestern Illinois...

* Until 345 AM CDT.

* At 258 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Burgess, or 7
  miles southeast of Aledo, moving northeast at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...Quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damage to vehicles is expected.

* Locations impacted include...
  Cable, Ophiem, Aledo, Burgess, Alexis, Shale City, Wanlock, New
  Windsor, Swedona, Woodhull, Gilchrist, Sunbeam, Old Gilchrist,
  Matherville, Boden, North Henderson, Alpha, Griffin, Viola, and
  Mercer County Fairgrounds.

This includes Interstate 74 in Illinois between mile markers 27 and
33.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
