...Critical Fire Danger Conditions Through 6 PM...

.The combination of strong northwest winds, low relative
humidity, and dry fuels will result in critical fire weather
conditions this afternoon and early evening. If a fire were to
start, it would likely spread quickly and be difficult to
extinguish.

FOR EXTREME FIRE FOR PORTIONS OF EASTERN IOWA...

* AFFECTED AREA...Scotland, Clark, Rock Island, Henry IL, Mercer,
  Henderson, Warren, Hancock, McDonough, Buchanan, Benton, Linn,
  Iowa, Johnson, Cedar, Muscatine, Scott, Keokuk, Washington,
  Louisa, Jefferson, Henry IA, Des Moines, Van Buren and Lee
  Counties, Delaware, Dubuque, Jones, Jackson and Clinton
  Counties.

* TIMING...Until 6 PM CST this evening.

* WINDS...Northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 25 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
  quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
