During the Small Craft Advisory, expect sustained winds up to 27 knots from the west with gusts up to 34 knots. The largest significant waves will be 5 feet with a potential maximum wave height of 7 feet. * WHERE...Michigan Waters of Lake Erie from Detroit River to North Cape MI. * WHEN...The maximum winds are expected around 9 AM EST Sunday with the largest waves expected around 9 AM EST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Below normal water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At 9:25 AM EST, the water level at Toledo was 7.7 inches below low water datum. The critical mark for safe navigation is 5 inches below low water datum. Water levels in the western basin of Lake Erie are forecast to fall to almost 4 feet below low water datum by this early to mid-afternoon. Water levels should then rebound to above the critical mark by this late evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
