.DISCUSSION...After a cold start to the day, full sunshine and dry
conditions will prevail today. Given the significant amount of dry
air aloft, did lower dewpoint temperatures and thus afternoon
minimum relative humidity values as some of the drier air aloft is
expected to mix down to the surface. With north winds of 10 to 15
mph today, the onshore flow for areas immediately along the Lake
Huron shoreline will help keep temperatures cooler and thus RHs more
elevated at 35% and higher. Inland from Lake Huron, warmer
temperatures and more efficient mixing of drier air down to the
surface will favor RHs falling into the 20-30% range. A cold front
drops south across the area on Saturday, bringing a chance for a few
isolated showers and reinforces gusty north to northeast winds during
the afternoon hours. Winds lighten up as we head into the latter
half of the weekend and early next week. A slow moving system will
lift into the region next week, bringing periodic chances for showers
and perhaps a few thunderstorms.
