...Elevated Fire Weather Conditions, Gusty Winds Today...

WHAT...Strong winds from the southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts
of 30 to 40 mph, dry surface vegetation, and relative humidity
between 30 and 45 percent will lead to elevated fire weather
conditions today.

WHERE...Central Iowa.

WHEN...Today, especially from early afternoon until 8 PM.

IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
uncontrollable.

PREPAREDNESS AND PRECAUTIONARY ACTIONS...Burning is discouraged under
these conditions. Also, take care to prevent the start of accidental
fires when smoking or operating vehicles around dry vegetation.
