Weather Summary for Iowa
National Weather Service Des Moines IA
411 AM CDT Sun Sep 29 2024

Today:

Skies were clear across Iowa overnight with light winds, generally
from the north. Temperatures heading toward daybreak were mild for
late September with readings in the 50s or lower 60s.

Today should be much like the past several days with sunny skies and
warm temperatures. Readings should be in the 70s by late morning,
heading toward daytime highs in the 80s.

Tonight and beyond:

Skies should again be clear tonight, and sunny tomorrow, with
overnight lows in the 50s and another day with warm highs in the 80s
Monday. Some change is expected by Tuesday however when a cold front
should drop temperatures with highs only in the upper 60s or lower
70s. Breezy winds and gusts from 15 to 25 mph will precede and follow
the frontal passage, from the southwest initially but then becoming
northwest. Our pattern should remain dry with no precipitation
forecast this week, and highs should be back in the 70s again starting
Wednesday.
