Weather Summary for Iowa
National Weather Service Des Moines IA
317 AM CST Thu Nov 14 2024

Today:

Rainfall is winding down after a soggy Wednesday for much of the
state. Radar is still picking up a few pockets of rain early this
morning over portions of northeast Iowa, as well as some lingering
drizzle over central Iowa. Temperatures are generally in the 40s
with northwest winds of 5 to 15 mph and higher gusts at times.

Conditions dry out today as the low pressure system kicks east.
Sunshine gradually returns with eroding cloud cover from west to
east across the state. Highs will be in the upper 40s to mid 50s.

Tonight and Beyond:

Dry weather sticks with us through the end of the week along with
warmer temperatures with highs pushing to near 60 on Saturday. Our
next round of rainfall pushes through Monday into Monday night. The
weather pattern remains active through next week with another storm
system set to impact the region by mid to late week, which will
bring wind and much cooler temperatures along with chances for rain
and perhaps wintry weather to the area. Details at this time range
remain uncertain, so stay tuned for forecast updates in the days
ahead.
