Duluth MN to Port Wing WI... Grand Marais to Taconite Harbor MN... Grand Portage to Grand Marais MN... Lake Superior west of a line from Saxon Harbor WI to Grand Portage MN beyond 5NM... Outer Apostle Islands Beyond 5 NM from Mainland... Port Wing to Sand Island WI... Sand Island to Bayfield WI... Silver Bay Harbor to Two Harbors MN... Taconite Harbor to Silver Bay Harbor MN... Two Harbors to Duluth MN... At 157 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 12 nm northwest of Taconite Harbor to 10 nm northwest of Twin Points Safe Harbor to 8 nm northwest of French River to 18 nm west of Duluth Harbor, moving east at 25 knots. Wind gusts of up to 30 knots were observed up to 20 miles away from these storms. Locations impacted include... Superior Entry, Sand Island, Barkers Island, Twin Points Safe Harbor, Tofte, Beaver Bay, Herbster, McQuade Harbor, Meyers Beach, York Island, Larsmont, Superior Harbor, Split Rock Lighthouse, Eagle Island, Port Wing Harbor, Knife River Marina, Castle Danger, Sugar Loaf Cove, Tofte Safe Harbor, and Duluth Lift Bridge Channel.
