Up to an inch or two of snow is likely Tuesday night, mainly for
the Arrowhead and South Shore.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Strong southwest winds will develop Tuesday afternoon and persist
through Tuesday night. A cold front will pass southeastward
across western Lake Superior which will veer winds northwesterly
with speeds and gusts expected to increase. Wind gusts of 20 to 30
knots are forecast. There is a 10-30% chance of gales to 35 knots
over portions of the North Shore waters near Grand Marais and
Grand Portage. Winds and waves will gradually diminish Thursday
morning.

Another period of strong northwest winds is forecast as a clipper
passes over the region Thursday night and Friday. Winds will
strengthen from the southwest and become hazardous to small craft
before veering northwesterly and strengthening further in the wake
of another cool front. There is a 30 to 60% chance of gales to 35
knots in the wake of this second front over portions of the North
Shore waters.
