.DISCUSSION...
A very dry airmass remains over the area today where min RH is
forecast to dip to 20-30% in the Minnesota side of the Northland,
lowest in locations west of US-53, along with south wind gusts of
15 to 20 mph. This will lead to elevated fire weather conditions
once again. Min RH is forecast at 25-35% in northwest Wisconsin
with wind gusts of 10 mph or less.
A warming trend is forecast for the end of the week into next
weekend, with high temperatures of 5-10F above normal (mostly in
the 60s). Some moisture return will also allow for min RH to stay
in the 35-50% range each day through the rest of the week. A cold
front moves through late Thursday and Thursday night, but little
in the way of rain is possible (10-30% chance in the Arrowhead
and northwest Wisconsin). A better chance for widespread rainfall
returns Saturday night through Sunday, with a decent potential for
at least a couple tenths of an inch. Probabilities for greater than
one-half inch of rain are only 10-20%.
