Mississippi River At Aitkin affecting west-central Aitkin and central Crow Wing Counties. .Recent rains caused river levels to rise to minor flood stage overnight, and very slow recessions have been observed today. The river is expected to remain just below flood stage overnight into Monday. Additional rain expected Monday and Tuesday could lead to persistent high levels near minor flooding, with a 10 to 20 percent chance of exceeding minor flood stage Tuesday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
