308 NZUS99 KBOU 171446 OPUDEN Developmental Probabilistic Snow Accumulation Forecast (DIA) National Weather Service Denver/Boulder, Colorado 0846 MDT Thursday, April 17, 2025 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This developmental product contains the probabilities (%) that the given snow amounts (inches) will occur at Denver International Airport during the respective 3 hour or 12 hour periods. The probabilities indicate the amount of snow that is expected to accumulate on runways and other concrete surfaces at DIA. [T (trace) means more than zero.] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Discussion (17/09-18/12 MDT): Rain showers will develop Thursday evening after 9pm following a cold front, with a rain/snow mix or even brief freezing rain possible between 10pm and 1am tonight. Past midnight, precipitation should transition to snow, with generally light to moderate intensity and snowfall rates 0.5"/hr or less. Fairly steady snow will continue through the day Friday, and taper off by Saturday morning. Air and pavement temperatures are likely to be marginal for most of the day Friday, with any accumulations being primarily confined to grassy and colder surfaces. Snow accumulation on runways and taxiways will become more likely after 6pm Friday as temperatures drop to or below freezing. Total accumulations on runways/taxiways of 1 to 3" expected through Saturday, occurring mainly Friday evening and night.
