.DISCUSSION...
Gusty southwest winds are expected to develop by this afternoon as a
strengthening lee side trough of low pressure moves from eastern
Colorado into southwest Kansas today. Combined with lowering relative
humidity values, this will result in an elevated fire risk for central
Kansas and portions of southwest Kansas ahead of the trough axis.
Outdoor burning is discouraged.
Light northeast winds are forecast to develop Sunday in wake of a
cold front pushing southeast across western Kansas into the Texas
Panhandle and western Oklahoma Saturday night.
