SMALL POCKETS OF SEVERE DROUGHT CONTINUE...

.SYNOPSIS:

.Drought intensity and extent:

According to the August 27 release of the U. S. Drought Monitor,
the severe (D2) drought area continues in small pockets, including
parts of Barber, Pratt, Kiowa and Grant counties.

.Hydrologic conditions:

There are no hydrological concerns.


.SUMMARY OF IMPACTS:

Impacts are marginal and confined to small areas.


.DROUGHT MITIGATION ACTIONS:

.None.

.LOCAL DROUGHT OUTLOOK:

Drought may worsen later in September, especially for areas
currently in severe drought. But heavy rains at the end of August
may put this degradations on hold for a few weeks.

.NEXT ISSUANCE DATE:

This product will be updated Friday 27 September or sooner if
drought conditions change significantly.
