DROUGHT IMPROVING ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST KANSAS...

.SYNOPSIS:

.Drought intensity and extent:

According to the June 27 release of the U. S. Drought Monitor, the
severe (D2) drought area has been reduced to small pockets,
including parts of Grant, Hodgeman, Ness, Rush and Pratt counties.

.Hydrologic conditions:

There are no hydrological concerns.

.SUMMARY OF IMPACTS:

The recent rains have improved prospects for summer and fall
crops.

.DROUGHT MITIGATION ACTIONS:

.None.

.LOCAL DROUGHT OUTLOOK:

The seasonal drought outlook from CPC indicates a persistence of
drought this summer.

.NEXT ISSUANCE DATE:

This product will be updated by July 28 or sooner if drought
conditions worsen. If drought continues to diminish then this
statement won`t be updated until drought returns.
