.DISCUSSION...
An upper level ridge is slowly pushing eastward over the Intermountain west over the next few days. This will
keep the winds out of the northwest and north today over Chadron and the remaining Nebraska Panhandle. Winds aloft
will be relatively light at 20 to 25kts over the panhandle. Due to the subsident nature of the ridge this will
allow those winds to mix down to the surface creating wind gusts up to 25 mph in the afternoon during peak mixing.
Min RH values with be between 16 and 20 peaking around noon and 3pm in the northern portion of the Nebraska Panhandle.
A nocturnal inversion will begin forming in the evening and lasting through the overnight hours cutting off the wind
gusts and aiding in poor smoke dispersal in the overnight hours.
