517 FNUS55 KCYS 061008 FWFCYS Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY 408 AM MDT Wed Aug 6 2025 RED FLAG WARNING FOR LOW RH, POOR OVERNIGHT RECOVERY, AND GUSTY WINDS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT FRIDAY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 419 THROUGH 429. FIRE WEATHER ZONES 417 AND 418 HAS A RED FLAG WARNING THURSDAY 12PM THROUGH 8PM FOR LOW RH AND GUSTY WINDS. .DISCUSSION... West of the Laramie range winds are expected to remain gusty today with RH values between 5 and 15 percent with stronger winds Thursday. East of the Laramie range RH values are expected to drop near 15 percent but RH recovery is a little bit stronger with overnight RH values of 40 to 50 percent expected. Upper level ridging peaks Thursday leading to stronger dry air advection and more widespread RH values below 15 percent across Southeast Wyoming. An incoming Low pressure system will increase winds Thursday afternoon prompting a temporary expansion of the Red Flag warning into Zones 417 and 418. Smoke dispersal will also increase in the afternoon from the stronger winds aloft. Friday, moisture will be pushing into the Intermountain west increasing RH values and ending the Red flag warnings as recovery is expected to strengthen.
