Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
123 AM MDT Mon Jul 1 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Minimal fire weather concerns today as low level moitsure remains in
place across the area. That will change after today as a front moves
through during the afternoon with westerly winds behind the front. The
front will also scour out a lot of the low level humidity as it moves
east. Showers and thunderstorms expected as the front moves through this
afternoon. Some of the storms could be severe with strong winds and
large hail. Best areas to see these severe storms will be the northern
Nebraska Panhandle and Niobrara County. Look for drier and warmer
conditions Tuesday with afternoon humidity becoming critical from
Cheyenne to Rawlins and Baggs. More widespread critical humidity
Wednesday when we could see fire weather headlines for much of
southeast Wyoming. Westerly wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph possible
Wednesday afternoon along with these critical humidities.
