Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
530 AM EDT Mon Aug 11 2025

The persistent, dominant area of high pressure that brought
us an extensive string of dry weather with light
wind and comfortably low humidity has shifted just east of the
Mid Atlantic Coast this morning.

A deepening south to southwesterly flow will develop for
today and Tuesday, leading to a several degree rise in
temperatures and a noticeable uptick in humidity.

There could be a few stray, slow moving showers and thunderstorms
from the mid afternoon into the early evening hours today,
mainly near and to the west of the RT 219 corridor

High temperatures today will be a couple of degrees higher than
Sunday, ranging from the low 80s across the Poconos to the low
90s across western Pennsylvania. Lows early Tuesday will be
notably higher than the past several nights, ranging through the
60s.

Heat and humidity will continue to build into the middle of the
week, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible across the
western third of the Commonwealth Tuesday evening. Showers and
thunderstorms become more widespread on Wednesday along and ahead
of a cold front.

Dry conditions and lower humidity follows for Thursday and Friday.
