.DISCUSSION...
A brief lull in precipitation is possible between 6am and 7am
this morning as showers across northern Maryland move
northeastward into southwestern Cumberland County. Shower coverage
is expected to increase throughout the morning hours as a cold
front approaches the area. There will be some potential for a
thunderstorm during the mid-afternoon hours; however, low (10-20%)
confidence on a thunderstorm at the wildfire site. Precipitation
is expected to taper off quickly during the late afternoon/evening
hours, giving way for dry conditions through Monday.

Winds today will start off out of the southwest this morning
gradually shifting westerly by the early afternoon. Winds could
shift westerly as early as 9am; however, generally expect the
shift to occur closer to 11am. Westerly winds will continue
shifting out of the northwest by the early afternoon hours and
continue prevailing out of the northwest through Sunday. High
confidence in morning 20 ft wind gusts this morning with moderate
confidence in the afternoon 20-foot wind gusts, high-end gusts up
to 27-28 mph possible between 5pm and 7pm this evening.

                    sunny (40-50 percent). Showers in the morning.
                    Slight chance of thunderstorms through the day.
