FIRE DANGER STATEMENT

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED...

* AFFECTED AREA: Brush Country.

* TIMING: From 1 PM until 9 PM CDT.

* WIND: South 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph. However, winds
  may weaken and shift northerly over the Rio Grande Plains
  depending on the eastward extent of this afternoon`s dryline.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY: As low as 15 to 30 percent.

* FUEL DRYNESS: Dry to normal. However, energy release components
  (ERC) are in the 60-90th percentile.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Affected residents are urged to exercise care with respect to all
outdoor activities that could inadvertently cause wildfires.

Avoid the use of welding or grinding equipment near grass and dry
brush. In addition, avoid parking vehicles in tall, dry grass and
weeds that could be ignited.

Do not toss cigarette butts on the ground. Report wildfires
quickly to the nearest fire department or law enforcement office.
