Updated at 1213 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 - Low to medium (10-40%) chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday. Higher chances at times across the Coastal Waters. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1213 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 Shower and thunderstorm activity will wane this evening then redevelop across the Coastal waters and across the Coastal Bend early Monday morning. Mid/upper level high pressure will build across the area Monday bringing drier mid/upper level air. This will result in less convective activity with chances between 10-40% across land and up to 50% across the Coastal Waters. Although high pressure is forecast to be across the region, short waves will continue to skirt across S TX on the southern periphery of the high pressure through at least mid week. This will keep a generally low to medium chance of convection through mid week with morning convection along the coast and over the waters, then inland along the sea breeze. By mid to late next week, the high pressure will gain more control with rain chances decreasing, but not completely going away with isolated showers possible along the sea breeze. Otherwise, temperatures will be around to slightly below normal (due to cloud cover/rain) through Wednesday, then Thursday and Friday will be a couple of degrees warmer as the high pressure shifts more across S TX. && .AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1213 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 VFR conditions will prevail across S TX through much of the period. Brief MVFR/IFR conditions will be possible due to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and again Monday morning, mainly for VCT, ALI and CRP. Brief patchy fog may also lead to MVFR/IFR conditions for VCT and ALI early Monday morning, mainly after 08Z. East winds winds are expected this afternoon as the sea breeze moves west. Light and variable winds expected tonight into Monday morning. && .MARINE... Issued at 1213 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 Generally a light to gentle (BF 2-3) onshore flow will prevail through the period. Brief gentle to moderate (BF 3-4) wind will be possible at times across the bays and nearshore waters south of Port Aransas each afternoon. Rain chances are medium to high through the middle of next week then decrease to low the latter half of next week. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
