Gusty southwest winds of 25 to 35 knots will develop on Lake Erie late this morning through this afternoon. These strong offshore winds could cause ice floes to break off from the lakeshore or from the Lake Erie Islands. If this occurs, anyone caught on the ice would become stranded. As a notice to mariners, the strong winds could cause ice to shift and potentially close shipping lanes. $$
