.DISCUSSION...
Tropical remnants of Helene will gradually move north today,
impacting the area with both wind and rain. Showers will become
widespread across the western basin of Lake Erie late this
afternoon into the evening, with limited thunder potential. Winds
will remain sustained from the northeast at 20-25 knots across the
Maumee Basin, with gusts up to 35 knots possible. These conditions
will likely cause a rise of water levels across the western basin,
although the current forecast does not suggest water levels
getting high enough for lakeshore flooding concerns. Wave heights
are not included in this forecast product due to the location
south of the lake, but waves on Lake Erie in that area will build
to 4-6 feet today.
