.DISCUSSION...
Showers will continue today from around Moosehead Lake and
Katahdin southward today, with thunderstorms possible this
afternoon. Any thunderstorms could produce locally heavy
downpours. Further north, showers and a few thunderstorms are
possible, but will not be as widespread. Rainfall through this
evening will average a quarter to a half inch over the north and
along the coast with around an inch to an inch and a half
possible
from the southern highlands across parts of south central areas.
Sunday will be mostly sunny with light winds as high pressure
returns. Unsettled weather is expected early to mid week next
week
as a trough of low pressure sets up to our west and waves of low
pressure circulate into the northeast around the trough.
