...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 AM EDT
FOR SOUTHWESTERN LEXINGTON AND NORTHEASTERN AIKEN COUNTIES...

At 157 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Ridge Spring,
or 7 miles south of Batesburg-Leesville, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         trees and powerlines.

Locations impacted include...
Batesburg-Leesville, Gilbert, Summit, Monetta, Camp Kinard, Fredonia,
Murray, Steedman, Kneece, Samaria Fire Station, and Cedar Pond
Campground.

This includes Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 29
and 51.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
