If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...A warm and humid start to the day with cumulus clouds beginning to develop across the area. A front will begin moving into the area this afternoon with increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms between 3 and 4 pm and thunderstorms becoming likely this evening. Thunderstorms are expected to produce locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds. The thunderstorms are expected to continue into tonight as the front settles across the Midlands. Temperatures will be in the mid 90s this afternoon however the heat index will be around 100 by noon with values as high as 104 through the afternoon.
