Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
151 PM EDT Tue Jul 8 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Above normal temperatures this afternoon with scattered afternoon
and evening showers and thunderstorms. A few thunderstorms may
become strong with gusty and erratic outflow winds, potentially up
to around 30 mph. There is a low chance for an isolated damaging
wind gust along with the possibility of localized flash flooding.
The threat of convection increases during the mid to later week
period as the region comes under the influence of upper troughing,
though this should also reduce temperatures to near normal values
for early July. 20-ft winds remain less than 15 mph outside of
thunderstorms, and daytime RH values remain above 40 percent.

Fog Potential: Possible near bodies of water.
