Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
200 AM EDT Thu Aug 21 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Isolated to scattered showers and storms are expected today,
especially by this evening with a weak frontal boundary nearing
the area. By Friday and Saturday this frontal boundary will be
south of the area, but scattered to widespread showers and storms
are expected each day during the afternoon and evening with some
heavy rainfall possible, especially Friday towards the southern
CSRA and into the Eastern Midlands. On Sunday a more robust cold
front will begin working through the area, bringing more showers
and storms before the front clears the area early in the week with
cooler/drier conditions expected along with a wind shift toward the west
and eventually northwest.

Fog potential tonight: Patchy ground fog is possible in fog prone
locations.
