Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
129 PM EDT Thu Oct 16 2025

.DISCUSSION...
A chilly and nearly calm overnight is expected tonight
before more dry conditions are expected Friday with high
pressure moving overhead. Winds Friday will be light out
of the northeast during the morning before becoming more
variable the remainder of the day with the center of high pressure
near the area. Minimum RH values should be near 35-40% during
the afternoon. Saturday should be fairly similar to Friday, except
winds now turn out of the south to southwest with increasing moisture.
A cold front then passes Sunday, bringing some chances for rain, though
any rainfall is looking to be on the light side. Early next week is
expected to turn dry again behind the front where minimum RH values
could fall to near 30%, especially Monday afternoon.

Fog potential tonight: Low
