Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
442 AM EDT Fri Apr 4 2025

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure continues to be in place offshore with strong upper
ridging leading to temperatures well above average through the
weekend. While an isolated shower or storm will be possible today
in the western portion of the area, next chance of significant
rain will be late Sunday through Monday associated with a cold
front. Models indicate a 50-60% chance that total precipitation
will exceed an inch. Winds will be out of the south through
Saturday, shifting more southwesterly Sunday and increasing as the
front approaches Sunday. This will reinforce low level moisture
with RH expected to remain above 40 percent each day through
Monday.

Fog Potential through Tonight: Patchy fog possible near sunrise.
