National Weather Service Columbia SC

.DISCUSSION...

...ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THROUGH SATURDAY...

Dry high pressure will fill in today with winds turning out of
the southwest by this afternoon and RH`s falling to 15-20%.
Winds will strengthen for Saturday out of the southwest as a
dry front approaches and some gusts over 30 mph are expected.
Given the drying fuels, a elevated fire risk is notable for
Saturday. Winds turn out of the northwest for Saturday night
with even drier air filling in for Sunday, but winds should
remain relatively light Sunday-Tuesday. The strong system will
push through Wednesday with windy conditions likely, but high
chances for widespread rain-thunderstorms.

Fog Potential Tonight: No fog expected.
