Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
1224 PM EDT Sun Jun 30 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Excessive heat and humidity will remain a concern today. A
frontal boundary is expected to move into the region late this
afternoon and remain over or near the region through Monday.
This should enhance shower and thunderstorm activity through
tomorrow, with the highest chances for activity in the southeast
portions of the district.

A widespread wetting rain is not expected despite the increase
in convective activity. Because of this, fire weather concerns
will continue to increase, especially with the Independence Day
celebrations coming up.

There will be a brief respite from the heat and humidity Monday
through Tuesday, but it returns during the latter half of the
week.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog possible.
