Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
454 AM EST Sun Jan 19 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Low pressure will move northeast of the region this morning
and deepen off the Mid Atlantic coast this afternoon. Scattered
showers are expected this morning especially across the east
Midlands. A strong cold front will push east of the area early
this afternoon and usher in much colder air. Strong westerly
winds will develop behind the front and expect wind gusts up to
35 mph this afternoon into the early evening. The winds will
slowly diminish overnight. Behind the front, a much colder air
mass will settle into the area for next week. Wintry
precipitation is possible Tuesday into Wednesday as low pressure
moves close to the area.

Fog Potential: None.
