Ridge over the area through mid-day with gusty south-southwest winds developing, boosting temperatures into the 70s and lower 80s this afternoon. A cold front arrives late afternoon with isolated showers/thunderstorms forming along it through early evening. Gusty winds and small hail expected near thunderstorms. Afternoon RH values will drop to around 20 percent over central portions of the district this afternoon. Expect good RH recoveries behind the front tonight. Friday will be cooler (50s/60s) but mainly dry with MinRH values in the mid 30s. Precipitation becomes likely late Friday and continues into Sunday with widespread precipitation amounts of 0.25 to 0.50 inches. Temperatures will be cold enough for accumulating snow in the overnight and early morning hours. Cool and unsettled conditions are expected to persist into next week.
