...Dry Conditions Persist with Minimal Precipitation Expected...
.DISCUSSION...
Mainly dry conditions will persist at least through mid to late
week as high pressure remains centered over the area. Afternoon
relative humidity values today will fall to 30-40%, particularly
in southern Vermont. The higher terrain should remain in the
50-60% range. Winds will generally be light from the south for the
first portion of the day, and switch to the north by the evening
as a weak cold front pass through the region. As the front moves
south, winds may briefly become breezy with gusts to 15 mph. An
isolated brief shower may be possible with the front, particularly
in northern New York, however, most locations will not see any
rainfall. Good overnight RH recovery is expected tonight back to
70-90%. Persistent dryness is expected to continue through at
least mid week, with some terrain driven isolated showers and a
thunderstorm possible Tuesday. CoCoRaHS ground reports suggest
decent surface drying with the little to no rain we have seen over
the last several days. Fire weather concerns will increase into
mid to late week.
