...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Coastal Waters extending out to 25 nm South of Marthas Vineyard
  and Nantucket...
  Coastal Waters from Montauk NY to Marthas Vineyard extending out
  to 20 nm South of Block Island...
  Coastal waters from Provincetown MA to Chatham MA to Nantucket MA
  out 20 nm...
  Nantucket Sound...
  Ocean Waters from Marthas Vineyard to Nantucket from 25 to 45 NM
  offshore...
  Ocean Waters from Montauk NY to Marthas Vineyard from 25 to 40 NM
  offshore...
  Rhode Island Sound...
  Vineyard Sound...

At 616 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 9 nm northeast of Buoy 44097
Southeast Of Block Island to 18 nm southeast of The Coastal Waters
Southeast Of Block Island, moving east at 40 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Squibnocket Bight, The Coastal Waters South Of Nantucket, Nantucket
Sound, Menemsha Bight, Great Point Light On Nantucket, Wasque Point,
Lamberts Cove, Brant Point Light, Gay Head Light, Nantucket Shoals
Buoy, Madaket Harbor, Surfside On Nantucket, The Coastal Waters South
Of Marthas Vineyard, Muskeget Channel, Vineyard Sound, Vineyard Haven
Harbor, Long Point On Marthas Vineyard, Sankaty Head Light, Cape Poge
Light, and Monomoy Point.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...briefly rough seas and
lightning strikes. Consider heading for safe harbor until these
storms pass.

These strong thunderstorms will produce winds to around 30
knots...and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A Special
Marine Warning may be issued if the storms strengthen. Boaters
should consider heading for shore before these storms arrive.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
