Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern New England
National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA
407 PM EDT Thu Oct 9 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Dry and quiet weather as high pressure remains in control for
Friday and Saturday. Less wind on Friday as high pressure moves
off shore, light north winds becomes light south winds. On
Saturday, wind direction becomes easterly to southeasterly ahead
of an approaching coastal storm. Though the day is dry.

Minimum relative humidities are expected between 30 to 50 percent
Friday. A few spots could even see minimum humidity percentages
in the 20s Friday afternoon, but winds will be lighter. As for
Saturday values are between 45 to 60 percent.

.OUTLOOK...Friday Night through Tuesday...

Our next chance for rain comes late this weekend as a coastal
storm moves up the East Coast, though confidence in the details
for this part of the forecast remains low.
