Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern New England
National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA
407 AM EDT Fri Oct 10 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Dry and relatively quiet weather as high pressure remains in
control through Saturday. Light winds today as high pressure
moves offshore, light north winds becomes light south winds. On
Saturday, wind direction becomes easterly to southeasterly ahead
of an approaching coastal storm.

Minimum relative humidities are expected between 30 to 50 percent
today. A few spots could even see minimum humidity percentages in
the 20s this afternoon. As for Saturday, minimum relative
humidities between 45 to 60 percent are expected.

.OUTLOOK...Saturday Night through Wednesday...

Our next chance for rain comes late this weekend as a coastal
storm moves up the East Coast, though confidence in the details
for this part of the forecast remains low. There is a
50-70 percent chance for 1-2 inches of rainfall over the 48 hours
ending 8 AM Tuesday, especially towards the south coast of New
England. A chance of showers persists into mid week, but should
not be as widespread or heavy.
