Low clouds have formed behind a weak cold front that pushed through
earlier this morning. We expect low clouds to persist through mid
afternoon and slowly rise. Uncertain if there may be a period where
the low clouds thin/scatter out before showers and thunderstorms
develop. The best chance for this is 21-24Z. With the low clouds
slowing the warming, will delay the PROB30 for thunderstorms until
00Z Monday. A shortwave trough combined with the moist airmass in
place is expected to produce numerous showers and scattered
thunderstorms this evening 00-06Z. Low clouds will reform once the
showers/storms move off to the east, if they happen to dissipate.
The low clouds will prevail through Monday morning (18Z Monday) with
ceilings of 500 to 1500 feet. Clouds will slowly lift and thin after
18Z Monday but may not scattered out Monday.

conditions in thunderstorms, low ceilings, and mist expected later
in the forecast period. Afternoon thunderstorms are likely within
the vicinity of KCOS this afternoon and into this evening. A period
of lighter rain followed by low ceilings and mist is expected
tonight into Monday morning.
KALS..Showers and thunderstorms are likely today. If any storms move
over station, expected brief reductions in visibility and ceilings,
especially between 22Z and 04Z.

The recent increase in moisture has set the stage for
widespread rainfall today, with precipitation possible at all
terminals for much of the next 24 hours. KTEX, KGUC, and KDRO
the most likely to see strong thunderstorms through the
afternoon, while KHDN, KVEL, and KCNY are on the lower end of
rain potential. ILS conditions could be threatened at KASE and
KEGE this afternoon as cigs lower with passing storms, and
occasional minor decreases in vis may be possible with heavier
rain. Conditions are expected to remain at VFR in spite of this
though. Expect erratic and gusty winds of 25-30 kts to be
possible near stronger storms.

.AVIATION...KSLC...The terminal will remain on the northern fringe
of an area of moisture spreading into northern Utah this morning. As
such on occasional shower or two is possible through the morning
with VFR conditions prevailing. There is a 10-15 percent chance of a
thunderstorm producing lightning and gusty winds in the vicinity of
the terminal between 16-19Z. Conditions will improve through much of
the afternoon. Southerly winds will prevail this morning, turning to
the northwest by 19Z. However passing showers this morning may
result in variable wind directions at times.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Afternoon showers and
thunderstorms will again develop across much of the region this
afternoon, which may impact area terminals with gusty outflow winds,
lightning, and brief MVFR visibility within heavier rainfall. Away
from these storms, VFR conditions with terrain driven winds can be
expected.

VFR conditions are expected to prevail through the period at all
terminals. Winds remain light (10kts or less) for all terminals as
well. Monsoonal moisture continues to increase today, with 20 to 40%
chances of showers and thunderstorms across much of southwest WY.
Have added PROB30 groups for all sites west of the Divide (KBPI,
KPNA, KJAC, and KRKS) as well as KLND for this afternoon to cover
these chances. Showers look to begin to develop later in the
afternoon (after 20Z) with impacts lingering through the evening.
Most likely impacts today will be gusty outflow winds 25 to 35 mph.
Chances decrease overnight, though mostly cloudy skies and
occasional showers will linger around KRKS through much of the
period.
Winds become mostly light and variable, less than 5kts,
overnight through the end of the period. There is a slight chance
(15%) of low clouds (possible MVFR cigs) moving into KCPR briefly
towards sunrise, so have added hints of this in the TAF, though
westward coverage of the low clouds does not look as extensive as it
was this morning.
Several active wildfire will continue across portions of western WY
and other parts of the western US, which are expected to again plume
out this afternoon. Continued occasional smoke impacts to visibility
are possible, most notably at KBPI and KPNA through the period.

Low CIGs will continue into the afternoon at KCYS and KSNY, but
are generally expected to gradually improve. KCYS should see
periods of VFR, but KSNY may not get above MVFR. Low clouds will
surge back in late this evening through Monday morning, with IFR
to LIFR expected again at KCYS, KSNY, and KAIA. KBFF is expected
to be mainly MVFR, but may see some IFR periods.
Further west, low CIGs are less of a concern, but we will see
thunderstorm activity developing first in the afternoon near
KLAR, and then later in the evening for both KRWL and KLAR with
the second round. A third round may develop near KSNY late this
evening into early Monday morning. The main hazards with today`s
storms will be lightning, heavy downpours, and gusty winds.

Low stratus will continue to lead to MVFR CIGs across portions
of southwest Nebraska this afternoon and evening. In addition,
scattered thunderstorm development will be possible through
tonight across southwest Nebraska, leading to brief MVFR
visibilities and gusty, erratic winds.
Low stratus will expand into the Sandhills tonight, and lead to
MVFR/locally IFR CIGs into Monday morning. This low stratus
will slowly erode tomorrow afternoon, with a return to VFR
expected for all area terminals.
Winds remain east-southeasterly outside of thunderstorms, at
around 5 to 10kts.

track eastward to the CO-KS border (by sunset) and into western
KS late this evening and overnight (~03-09Z Monday).. when the
Goodland terminal will likely be affected.
MCK: Expect 7-12 knot E to SE winds through the majority of the
TAF period, though.. gusty/erratic winds can be expected in, or
in vicinity of, any storms. Occasional MVFR conditions
associated with convection (or convective outflow/remnants)
remain possible late this morning through the afternoon..
depending on whether or not ongoing isolated convective
development along/south of I-80 (near KGGF, KIML) persists.
Showers and thunderstorms developing along the Colorado Front
Range and Palmer Divide this afternoon are anticipated to track
eastward into western KS late this evening and overnight. While
this activity may largely be confined-to (or focused-in) Kansas,
the McCook terminal may, nevertheless, find itself within (or

and an half in the moderate to locally heavy rain. These periods
will be transients in the afternoon, but become more widespread
