VFR conditions are expected through tonight. There is a slight
chance (20%) of IFR/LIFR conditions at KDEN and KBJC for a few
hours between 12z and 15z. Most likely the fog in the valleys
north of Denver will not make it south into these airports, but
it`s possible there will be light north winds advecting the fog
towards the city before it burns off. The worst case scenario
would be 1 or 2 hours of 1/4 mile visibility/800-1600 foot RVRs.
After that, south winds should increase, with gusts of 25 to 35
knots in the afternoon at KDEN/KAPA. There`s a slight chance (20%)
of thunderstorms producing stronger wind gusts, up to 50 knots
(10% chance) with the main threat of that 22z-02z. Winds will
likely still be out of the south with any thunderstorm activity.

For KCOS and KPUB..VFR conditions are expected through the rest of
the morning hours, with MFR visibilities in showers and
thunderstorms possible this evening, mainly at KCOS. Southerly winds
with gusts to 30kt are likely at both stations, with gusty and
erratic thunderstorm winds also possible near both stations this
evening. Thunderstorms will also be possible at KPUB this evening,
though chances were too low (less than 30%) to include in the TAF at
this time.
For KALS..VFR conditions are likely through the morning hours,
though showers will continue to be likely in the vicinity as
convection pushes into the terrain surrounding the terminal. Lower
ceilings and thunderstorms on station will be more likely (more than
30%) this evening, especially from 23Z through 05Z. Thunderstorm
wind gusts of 45kt will be possible, along with brief MVFR ceilings
and visibilities if storms move over station. Conditions are likely
to improve after 09Z Thursday morning.

area this morning and this trend will continue through the day.
An approaching system will also bring some gusty winds to most
TAF sites this afternoon and early evening. Some isolated
showers, and a few thunderstorms, will also be possible which is
covered by PROB30 groups for many TAF sites. The best chances
for showers and storms will be KTEX and KDRO this afternoon and
evening. Despite this convection and cloud cover, VFR conditions
will be predominant through the TAF period.

.AVIATION...KSLC...The chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms
will increase through the morning with the best chance of showers
and thunderstorms at the terminal coming during the 18-22Z
timeframe. Periods of MVFR CIGS/VIS can be expected with stronger
storms which pass over the terminal this afternoon. Winds will
generally remain southerly, however will become erratic and variable
at times through the day due to outflow from passing showers.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Showers and occasional
thunderstorms can be expected through this evening across much of
northern Utah and southwest Wyoming, with periods of MVFR and
perhaps brief IFR CIGS/VIS within heavier showers. Across southern
Utah showers and isolated thunderstorms will persist through the
morning, with conditions improving and becoming predominantly VFR by
early afternoon. Winds across the region will remain generally
southerly, but will become variable near passing showers and
thunderstorms.

The active weather pattern continues as a broad low pressure system
sweeps over the region. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are
ongoing early this morning, as well as several terminals with low
ceilings. This will lead to MVFR to IFR conditions at times through
the morning before this activity subsides and VFR conditions
generally prevail through the afternoon. However, additional
convection is expected to develop, likely returning MVFR conditions
at times to terminals through the afternoon; PROB30 groups are in
place to account for this. The low will approach Wyoming and
eventually pass over Wyoming late in the period. This will result in
another round of precipitation across the area, generally becoming
more widespread after 06Z Thursday. MVFR to IFR conditions are
expected to return to most terminal by the end of the period.

Dense fog will impact the eastern plains terminals this morning with
VIS below one half mile at times. Fog should lift by this afternoon
as a Pacific storm system tracks eastward across the Great Basin.
Several rounds of thunderstorms are possible beginning late this
afternoon through tonight.
HAZARDS/WEATHER TRENDS: IFR or LIFR conditions will prevail for all
western Nebraska terminals and KCYS until 16z to 20z today. KCYS
will fluctuate between VFR and IFR in fog, being on the western
fringe of the low stratus deck. KCDR may remain in light fog and IFR
CIGS through the day, with only brief breaks during shower or
thunderstorm activity.
Low confidence with timing of thunderstorm activity today and
tonight. Models have trended later with convection initiation,
holding off until late this evening and tonight. Added PROB30 groups
to the sites with higher confidence in timing (KRWL, KBFF, KAIA, and
KCDR).

Dense fog will continue through late morning with IFR to LIFR
conditions possible. Fog will lift by late morning, however
lower cigs will linger across northern Nebraska, including KVTN
terminal with IFR and LIFR conditions possible across northern
Nebraska through the afternoon. LLWS will be possible this
evening across much of the Sandhills into north central Nebraska
with winds of 55 kts just off the sfc. Sfc winds will be out of
the southeast around 10 to 15 kts with gust up to 30 kts.

GLD: VFR conditions are expected to prevail through the TAF
period.. with ceilings confined to cirrus at/above ~12,000 ft
AGL. S winds at ~15 knots will increase to 15-25 knots after
sunrise.. further increasing to 20-30 knots during the late
morning (by ~18Z) and 25-30 knots with gusts up to ~40 knots
during the afternoon.
MCK: At 05Z, the McCook terminal was situated on the far
southern periphery of an expansive area of fog/stratus in
Nebraska. While sub-VFR conditions assoc/w fog may periodically
affect the McCook terminal at the beginning of the TAF period,
current and recent runs of the HRRR suggest that fog/stratus
will gradually shift north toward the I-80 corridor ~06-12Z
Wed.. that VFR conditions are apt to prevail by sunrise.. and
that VFR conditions are likely to prevail through the remainder
of the TAF period, with ceilings confined to cirrus at/above
~12,000 ft AGL. ESE-SE winds at 7-12 knots will veer to the S
and increase to 10-20 knots after sunrise.. further increasing
to 15-25 knots during the late morning (by ~18Z) and 20-30 knots
with gusts to ~35 knots during the afternoon.

Iso/sct fast-moving storms are breaking out across central NM
early this morning and will likely impact KLVS. Areas of MVFR cigs
prevail across much of the area this morning and will be slow to
improve today. Southerly low level flow will increase through the
day, with frequent gusts to between 25-30kts by afternoon. Another
round of sct/num showers and storms is forecast to develop across
north central NM later this afternoon and then persist overnight,
potentially impacting KLVS and KSAF. Deterioration is forecast
again tonight, with MVFR cigs likely at KLVS and KTCC.
