.DISCUSSION...
Expect seasonal temperatures today with some lingering cloud cover
throughout the day, but without any precipitation.
There is high confidence in prevailing wind direction remaining out
of the west through tonight. The drainage along Lazy Z Rd has remained
largely sheltered from stronger winds over the past 24 hours, and
that`s expected to remain the case today with sustained 20-ft speeds
peaking between 10-12 mph, and gusts peaking 20-25 mph. However,
surrounding ridgetops near and above 8,000 ft will likely be more
exposed, and could experience occasional gusts closer to 30-35 mph
through this afternoon. Winds will weaken considerably in the evening.
Highly favorable smoke dispersal conditions will prevail for a majority
of the day.
Relative humidity is anticipated to remain above 25 to 30%, although
there`s a small chance (~25%) of a brief fall into the low 20`s if
cloud cover clears more efficiently than expected.
Looking ahead at the next few days, expect gradually warmer
temperatures with a slight chance (25%) of a shower or thunderstorm
Saturday, and light winds. Precipitation potential will increase
moderately for Sunday afternoon, with slightly breezier conditions
returning.
