.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...
Temperatures will be 15 degrees or more warmer across the area,
and it will be quite dry. North winds will pick up midday and gust
20-25 mph across the plains for a few hours in the mid afternoon,
especially closer to the Wyoming border. RH will drop to near 15%
in those breezy areas, and 15-20% elsewhere across the plains.
With better mixing heights and some wind, expect good to excellent
smoke dispersal all across the plains, with good or better smoke
dispersal across the mountain valleys other than Middle Park.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday through Thursday...
It will be mainly dry through the period with only a slight
chance of showers in the Mountains Tuesday afternoon through
Wednesday morning. Temperatures will be above normal through
Wednesday but then drop back to seasonal levels on Thursday
behind a cold front. Winds will increase on Tuesday and
continue through Thursday. Elevated to critical fire conditions
may develop over South Park and the southern foothills
Wednesday and Thursday.
