.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Friday...Winds will subside in most
areas by early this evening. Skies will clear as drier air moves
into the ridging associated with a building ridge of high
pressure. Sunshine returns to all areas Friday, with warmer (but
still below normal) temperatures. Weak inversions will hold in
most areas due to snow cover, so smoke dispersal will be limited
to poor except a few locations in/near the mountains and foothills
where inversions will be weakest.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Friday night through Tuesday...Windy
conditions will prevail Saturday across the area as an upper level
system tracks across region. This system will bring snow to the
mountains and possibly light snow over the plains. Other than
mountain snow, drier conditions to prevail Sunday and next week
under a northwest flow aloft. This will keep temperatures cool
with breezy conditions at times across the plains.
