.DISCUSSION...Tonight through Saturday...Mostly dry conditions
will continue through tonight, with a chance for isolated showers
mainly in the northern mountains and plains. Generally light winds
up to 15 mph expected. A system will arrive by Friday, bringing
scattered to numerous showers an afternoon thunderstorms to the
high terrain Friday and Saturday. Snow levels expected to stay
above 10,000 ft. Best chance for precipitation across the plains
will be late Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday morning.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday night through Tuesday...On Sunday,
cross-barrier flow aloft could allow for orographic rain/snow and winds
to gust up to 50 mph at times along the higher terrain. For the
plains, downsloping winds will keep most of the area dry. A cold
front is expected to push through, bringing cooler temperatures
and northerly wind gusts up to 30 mph. Minimum RH values should
stay at or above 20%.
