Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
345 AM MDT Mon Jul 1 2024

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Scattered afternoon convection
is expected again today, though overall coverage and wetting rain
chances will be diminished compared to the weekend. The best
chance of precipitation will be across the higher elevations into
the Palmer Divide. Temperatures will be near normal today with
humidity values remaining above 20%. Gusty winds up to 35 mph will
be possible across the high country this afternoon. Good to
excellent smoke dispersal is expected across most of the forecast
area.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday through Friday...
Near critical fire weather conditions are possible Wednesday
afternoon mainly for parts of the high country above the I-70
corridor as relative humidities drop near 10-16 percent and westerly
winds producing gusts up to 30 mph. Similar conditions could occur
Thursday as well.

Although isolated to scattered showers and storms are possible
Tuesday and Wednesday, wetting rains are unlikely with the exception
of the far eastern plains on Wednesday evening. Drier conditions are
expected Thursday through the end of the week. Smoke dispersal
conditions reach very good to excellent Tuesday.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
