.DISCUSSION...Tonight through Friday...Scattered showers and
thunderstorms will continue to track east across the Front Range
and eastern plains through this evening. A few severe storms will
be possible across the plains with large hail and strong winds.
Storms along the Front Range will not be as strong, but still
capable of producing heavy rain, small hail, and winds to 50 mph.
Surface high pressure prevails over the area Monday morning and
then slides east of the area by afternoon. This will bring drier
air to the area. An inversion at the mid levels of the atmosphere
is expected to keep showers and storms from forming. High pressure
aloft builds over the Central Rockies for Tuesday through
Thursday bringing a warming and dry trend into mid week. The high
slides slightly east of the area for Thursday, possibly enough for
monsoon moisture to increase and bring a round of
afternoon/evening thunderstorms.
