.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Thursday...
The higher mountain elevations will see very light snow through
Thursday. Breezy conditions will continue in the mountains, foothills,
and eastern plains. Widespread Good to Excellent smoke dispersal
conditions are expected Thursday afternoon.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday night through Monday...Strong and
gusty winds will develop in and near the Front Range Mountains
and Foothills Thursday night and continue into Friday morning.
Peak gusts of 50-60 mph can be expected in wind prone areas. A
cold front will then slip across the plains in the morning into
early afternoon, pushing back into the foothills. Temperatures
will turn colder behind this front, with generally light snow
becoming more widespread Friday night into Saturday. Smoke
dispersal should be good in most of the foothills through most of
Friday, but then poor Saturday (outside of snow) and Sunday due to
cooler temperatures and lighter winds.
Temperatures should moderate closer to normal levels into early
next week, but lack of winds aloft could keep smoke dispersal
limited for much of this period.
